SAM MOORE PERFORMS AS PART OF “A CELEBRATION OF BLUES & SOUL: THE 1989 INAUGURAL CONCERT”
PREMIERING MARCH 2014 on PBS

World Television Premiere of Dazzling 1989 Concert Featuring Sam Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bo Diddley, Ronnie Wood, Billy Preston,
Percy Sledge, Delbert McClinton, Dr. John and more

Sam Moore set to perform on Imus in the Morning and Huckabee in early April

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 17, 2014) – This March, PBS viewers will be treated to the world television premiere of a never-before-seen historic concert featuring Sam Moore and some of the biggest names in blues, soul and rock history performing their greatest hits. Recorded during a live Presidential Inaugural Concert Event in 1989 for President George H.W. Bush, the video and audiotapes of this concert were presumed lost for nearly 20 years after the untimely death of Lee Atwater, the concert organizer and host.

A CELEBRATION OF BLUES & SOUL: THE 1989 INAUGURAL CONCERT is part of special programming premiering on PBS stations beginning March 1, 2014.

A CELEBRATION OF BLUES & SOUL
features Sam Moore’s performance of “Soul Man,” Dr. John’s performance of “Right Place, Wrong Time,” Bo Diddley’s performance of “Hey! Bo Diddley,” with Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones, “Hoochie Coochie Man,” performed by Willie Dixon with Albert Collins, fellow Blues Hall of Fame guitarist Joe Louis Walker and Delbert McClinton, and McClinton’s own performance of “Just A Little Bit,” with both Albert Collins and a stunning duet by 5th Beatle Billy Preston and Carla Thomas performing the Sam & Dave classic “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby”.

“PBS viewers are in for a once-in-a-lifetime musical treat,” said Joyce Moore, one of the principal producers of the 1989 concert. “This broadcast of the concert originally called ‘A Celebration for Young Americans’ is especially significant because it contains truly magnificent performances from brilliant American icons we have since lost — Billy Preston, Willie Dixon, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, Duck Dunn, Lafayette Leake and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It was an honor and the thrill of a lifetime to have been part of and associated with this inaugural event when it occurred in 1989.”

In addition, the special features nearly 20 minutes of dazzling historic Stevie Ray Vaughan performances including “Superstition,” “Love Struck Baby” (with guest artist Jimmie Vaughan), and “Frosty,” with guest artists Jimmie Vaughan and Blues Hall of Fame legend Albert Collins and Rolling Stone Ronnie Woods.

Finally, A CELEBRATION OF BLUES & SOUL has the elements of being a very special tribute to the legendary artists who recorded for Memphis’ Stax Records. Including Eddie Floyd’s performance of “Knock on Wood,” Moore’s “Soul Man”, the and a stirring Carla Thomas and Billy Preston rendition of “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.” These performances also include Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Steve Cropper and bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn from the Stax Records legendary group Booker T and the MG’s, who played on the original studio recordings for these songs, and fellow Stax guitarist Michael Toles of the Bar-Kays. The companion pledge drive dvd also features Stax label mate William Bell performing the Albert King classic, Booker T penned “Born Under A Bad Sign”.

The original video for A CELEBRATION OF BLUES & SOUL was professionally recorded with seven cameras, along with a separate 24-track audio recording. When these original recordings were relocated six years ago, the original video was restored, re-mastered, color-corrected, and converted to HD, and the audio was remixed to a 6-channel, 5.1 format by the legendary audio engineer Ed Greene, who has won more than 20 Emmy® Awards for sound mixing and engineering, for programs such as American Idol, and numerous productions of the Grammy Awards® and the Academy Awards®

Nashville, TN (December 4, 2013) – Country songstress Sherry Lynn brings a special sparkle to her latest single/video, “Christmas On My Mind.”  The up-tempo holiday offering (written by Nashville hitmakers Sandy Ramos and Carmen Logan) features everything that makes the season memorable:  family, friends, snow, icicles and Santa.

The video was produced by Tom Frkovich (Kennedy Center, Amazon, United Way), directed by Nicole Agostino (Silver Linings Playbook) and filmed at several New Jersey locations.  Settings include the Almonesson Fire Hall in Deptford and Exley’s Garden Center & Christmas Tree Farm in Sewell.  The garland-festooned log cabin seen throughout is the Franklinville home of Sherry’s friends Donna and Joe Kennedy, who also portray a merry mother and father.

“Christmas On My Mind” kicks off with Lynn’s crystal clear Country vocal, a bouncy melody, tinkling sleigh bells, chimes and more.  It’s a song Sherry has been searching years to find.  “I have always wanted to record a Christmas song,” Sherry notes.  “And while I love the traditional classics, I wanted to find something new so I could make it my own.  When Sandy brought this tune to me I believed I had finally found the perfect fit.  It was a blast to record and my whole family really got into the holiday spirit during the shoot.”

HANK WILLIAMS JR. SONG “ANGELS ARE HARD TO FIND” FEATURED IN GEORGE CLOONEY & SANDRA BULLOCK MOVIE GRAVITY

Source: Webster PR

————————–

“There are a couple of parts in the movie where the grizzled man astronaut, played by the devastatingly charming George Clooney, is floating around listening to music in his suit. He’s listening to Hank Williams Jr.’s “Angels Are Hard To Find” which ostensibly is about a woman but can be applied to basically anything else. It was just a tiny part of a gigantic movie, but it was entirely moving. It was so peaceful and terrifying. I loved it.” – Shea Serrano, LA Weekly

HankWilliamsJr_AngelsAreHardToFind_600pxNASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 2, 2013) – Will Hank Williams Jr. be headed to the stage of the Academy Awards?? Having won three Emmy Awards for his composition of the ever-popular theme song to Monday Night Football for 21 years, Williams is garnering rave reviews for his musical contribution “Angels Are Hard To Find,” to the current Warner Bros. Picture Gravity.

“This song was on both my 1974 album Living Proof and the 1991 album Pure Hank.  It just proves good songs resurface at the appropriate time,” says Hank Williams Jr.  “I like both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in their roles.  Then hearing my song in the movie, for me, already made it a winner.”

“Angels Are Hard To Find,” is included twice within the movie where Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into… More the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

RHONDA VINCENT JOINS THE BEACH BOYS, THE BEATLES, DAVID BOWIE, AND THE ROLLING STONES FOR ALL-TIME BEST ALBUM, WORST ALBUM ART

Source: Webster PR

—————————-

RV_ADreamComeTrue_cvr_600pxNASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 29, 2013) – In a recent Huffington Post poll, the “new queen of bluegrass” as named by the Wall Street Journal, Rhonda Vincent joins some of the biggest names in music for having the “BEST ALBUM” of all-time with the “WORST ALBUM ART.”

As quoted by The Huffington Post, “Hey, look! Your Sunday School teacher made an album! Hailed today as one of the best bluegrass records of the past 30 years, Rhonda Vincent’s first album may also have one of the all-time dweebiest covers. The hair. The sequins. The font. The blush. The lavender. The hair. Everything about this screams the early ‘80s (which is all the dorkier considering that the record came out in the early ‘90s). But if you are able to unsee that awkwardness, the performances on this extraordinary debut are all utterly thrilling.”

Check it out here: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/11/14/best-albums-worst-album-art_n_4257759.html

“To have my music recognized 20 years after its release as one of the best albums of all-time, is a cool thing and pretty amazing,” says the award-winning Rhonda Vincent. “Back then I was recording for an independent label and now, today, I continue to make the BEST music possible, and meet the challenge of creating the artwork for my own label.  I’ve learned so much since this CD, and now I have the tools and knowledge to make a better album cover!! But, regardless of the album art, I am thrilled to be among some of the best recording artists, and listed in the top 10 albums of all-time! Wait till you see my next album cover, to be released in January!

Top 10 Best Albums, Worst Album Art:
1.    The Beach Boys – Pet Sounds
2.    Blind Faith – Blind Faith
3.    Rhonda Vincent – A Dream Come True
4.    David Bowie – Diamond Dogs
5.    Iron Maiden – Iron of the Beast
6.    The Beatles – Yesterday and Today
7.    Neil Young – Zuma
