6About Midnight Red:
United by their intensely pure talent and passion for music of all kinds,Midnight Red’s members hail from all over the U.S.: Joey Diggs, Jr. is a Los Angeles native, Thomas Augusto was raised in rural Texas, Anthony Ladao is from Seattle, Eric Secharia grew up in Burbank, and Colton Rudloff comes from Buffalo, New York. As the second signing to the partnership between Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter RedOne’s 2101 Records and Capitol Music Group, Midnight Red is now teaming up with RedOne (Lady Gaga, U2, J.Lo, Pitbull) to create a debut album that showcases their powerhouse vocals and harnesses the combustible energy of their live show.

Near-lifelong singers and dancers hailing from wildly different backgrounds,Midnight Red saw its inception when Anthony and Eric met through their mutual vocal coach. A star dancer for Monsters of HipHop, Anthony had tried out as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson at age 12, then made it to the final round of auditions only to find he was too young to go on tour. After Anthony connected with Eric (through a vocal coach), the two reached out to Thomas, who soon relocated to L.A. from his rural Texas hometown to join the group. A self-described music obsessive “raised by MTV,” Thomas devoted his high school years to scouting out any opportunity to sing onstage, and had crossed paths with Eric through a singing competition when he was 15. Next, the group tracked down Colton after stumbling across a YouTube video of the aspiring singer/school-chorus star covering Jesse McCartney’s “Leavin.’” To round out the lineup, Midnight Red’s then-manager tapped Joey, another aspiring singer who was attending California State University, Northridge (and whose singer/songwriter father, Joey Diggs Sr., had recorded vocals with the likes of Smokey Robinson, Whitney Houston, and Rod Stewart).

HANK WILLIAMS JR. & MERLE HAGGARD TEAM UP ON CLASSIC TUNE

Country Music Icons release lyric video to support collaboration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 26, 2013) – Five-time Entertainer of the Year Hank Williams Jr. and Country Music Hall of Fame member Merle Haggard spent some time in the studio recording the 1980 hit song “I Think I’ll Just Sit Here and Drink,” for Hank Williams Jr.’s latest studio album Old School New Rules.  You can watch the video here: http://youtu.be/hpD8aehKRtI

“Merle is one-of-a-kind,” says Hank Williams Jr.  “His music resonates with fans just like mine does.  Making this song was simple, it maybe took two takes.  Then we spent the rest of the time laughing and telling old road stories. Merle and I are for the everyday working man and that’s something we have in common.”

On December 31, 2013, Williams will perform at the fifth annual “Bash on Broadway” in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.  Prior to the show he will receive the 2013 Operation Troop Aid “Patriot Award” for his support of those serving in the military, their families, and his continued Patriotic stance.

About Hank Williams Jr.
Though he began his career in the shadow of his legendary father, Hank Williams Jr. emerged as a formidable Country singer-songwriter in his own right with 1960s hits such as “It’s All Over But The Crying” and “Cajun Baby.” But things changed with the 1979 release of “Family Tradition,” where he broke the Nashville mainstream by adopting a rebel image and writing/recording in a style incorporating his Blues and Southern Rock influences. The results were staggering as  42 Top-10 hits followed, two CMA Entertainer of the Year honors, three ACM Entertainer of the Year honors, multiple Grammy nominations and a Grammy award for “There’s a Tear in My Beer”, a duet with his father using electronic merging technology.

As groundbreaking as Hank Williams Jr. became, it wasn’t just his performance that people took note about, but rather his songwriting that became so notable. The driven musician penned hits songs year after year scoring 20 BMI Awards. One of the arguably most-heard Country song of modern times, the four-time Emmy award-winning “Are You Ready For Some Football?,” which was heard nationally as the theme song of ABC and ESPN’s Monday Night Footballtelecasts, was aired for 21 years.

As the accolades kept coming, Williams sold over 55 million albums, achieving gold, platinum, and multi-platinum status along with 13 of those albums hitting the no. 1 spot on the Billboard chart. In 2008, Williams was honored with the BMI Icon award at the 56th annual BMI Country Awards, joining an elite group of past honorees including Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Dolly Parton.

Writers respond to audience suggestions, improvise and pull from their own catalogs to meet a series of lively challenges until the last writer remains and is named “King of the Hook.” As always, there is never a cover and seating is limited, so everyone is encouraged to get there early.  Songwriters who wish to participate in the show should submit a package to offthehooknashville@gmail.com  for an audition. silverdollarAbout the Silver Dollar Saloon:
The iconic Silver Dollar Saloon is Cumberland Hospitality Group’s largest venue in Historic Downtown Nashville’s entertainment district. Steeped in a rich history dating back to the 1800’s when steamboats and railroads were the mode of shipment and trade with coal dust covering the streets, The Silver Dollar Saloon once catered to the riverboat men coming up from the wharf at the foot of Broadway (which is now Riverfront Park). The saloon earned its name for the hundreds of silver dollars used as decoration in the floor of the original saloon. Today’s Silver Dollar Saloon pays homage to this old style with detailed dark wood furnishings, copper inlaid accents, steamboat décor, spittoons, dim lights, ice cold drinks, and authentic live entertainment that will have you coming back for more.

Creative Allies Bob Dylan Contest Entry

First, sorry for the lack of updates. I had tried to post some releases and information a couple of weeks ago and had some issues.  Then life got a little busy. Updates and releases are coming this week, along with some blogs over the weekend. Lots of photos and some new art to post.

Speaking of art, I entered a Creative Allies contest for a Bob Dylan poster. I would love for you all to see it, like it, share it and all that jazz. There are some really great entries, so like and share all of the ones you like.
